Lewis Exterior Detached

Traditional Detached House Visualization

MISPLACED: This is a traditional two-story detached single-family brick home with a hipped roof, front gate, and driveway -- not multi-family.

Project Overview

In 2026, 3D Praxis Studio was commissioned to create an exterior rendering for a single-family detached home in a suburban neighborhood. The client, an architect based in the UK, sought to visualize their design concept to present to potential buyers. The project was straightforward, focusing on accurately depicting the architectural features and landscaping of the home.

The team, led by senior artist Ravi, collaborated closely with the client to understand their vision. Regular communication ensured that the design intent was captured effectively. The project timeline was tight, but the team was well-prepared, drawing from their extensive experience with similar projects. With over 660 completed projects since the studio’s founding in 2010, the team was confident in their ability to deliver a high-quality rendering.

The exterior of the house featured a modern aesthetic with clean lines, large windows, and a welcoming front porch. The surrounding landscape included a well-manicured lawn and strategically placed trees, designed to enhance the overall appeal of the property. The client was particularly interested in showcasing how the home would fit into its environment, making the integration of natural elements a priority.

Technical Approach

To achieve the desired look, the team utilized 3ds Max and V-Ray for rendering, focusing on realistic lighting and material properties. A key technical detail was the use of a daylight system to simulate natural sunlight, which allowed for accurate shadow casting and reflections on the glass surfaces. The team also employed ForestPack to create a lush, natural landscape that complemented the architectural design. The camera setup was carefully chosen to highlight the home’s best angles, ensuring that the final output would resonate with potential buyers.

The Result

The final rendering successfully captured the essence of the design, providing the client with a compelling visual tool for their marketing efforts. The client expressed satisfaction with the result, noting that it effectively showcased the home’s features and its integration into the surrounding environment.

In our recent project for the Lewis family, we were tasked with creating a stunning exterior rendering of their detached single-family home. The client sought a photorealistic visualization to showcase the architectural design to potential investors and local planning authorities. With their vision in mind, we aimed to capture the essence of their dream home while ensuring it met the aesthetic and functional standards required for planning approval.

Our approach to this rendering was centered around meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the surrounding environment. We conducted a thorough analysis of the site, considering factors such as natural light, landscaping, and neighboring structures. This allowed us to create a unique composition that not only highlighted the architectural features of the home but also harmonized with its surroundings. By utilizing advanced techniques in 3D modeling, we were able to present the design in a way that felt both inviting and realistic.

For this project, we employed industry-leading software, including Autodesk 3ds Max and V-Ray, to achieve exceptional lighting and material effects. We meticulously selected textures that reflected the quality of materials intended for the build, from the warm tones of the wooden accents to the sleek finish of the stone façade. Our team expertly manipulated lighting to create a dynamic atmosphere, showcasing the home in both daylight and twilight settings, enhancing its appeal.

The final result was a breathtaking exterior rendering that not only impressed the client but also played a crucial role in their planning application process. The photorealistic visuals helped secure the necessary approvals and provided a compelling marketing tool for their investor pitch, ultimately bringing their vision one step closer to reality.
