Render or Photograph for Condo Pre-Sale Marketing?
Use renders. Before construction ends there is nothing to photograph, and waiting for photographs means selling later. Renders start from $199 per image and a first draft usually arrives in 3 to 5 business days. Photographs take over once a unit or the lobby is finished, and the render set is then retired or relabelled. Plan for both from the start.

What a render can do that a photograph cannot
A render shows the finished building from the angle you choose, at the time of day you choose, before the site is cleared. That includes the view from a balcony, the lobby and the amenity deck. A photograph of a hole in the ground cannot do this. Choose the angles that answer the buyer’s first question, which is usually what the view and the main space will look like.
What a photograph does better
Once a unit is built, a photograph of the real room beats any render for trust. Buyers who toured a render and then see the unit expect them to match. This is why the render has to follow the drawings and the specified finishes, not invention. Our note on what the render is still for covers the later stages.
Label them honestly
Mark pre-construction images as artist’s impressions, and keep furniture, finishes and views consistent with what you are building. Marketing rules differ by state and country, so check the wording with your counsel before the brochure goes out. We do not give legal advice.
Worked example from our delivery records
In our delivery index, a project typed multi-family came to four delivered renders across two revision rounds. A launch set that size covers one hero exterior, one amenity, one typical unit and one more building angle. Condo sales sets are usually the same shape, with a furnished 3D floor plan for each unit type added on top.
