Project Overview
In early 2026, 3D Praxis Studio was approached by a client looking to visualize a residential mountain cabin designed for open-plan living. The project was located in a picturesque area surrounded by nature, which posed both opportunities and challenges for the team. The client, an architect based in the UK, wanted to showcase the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, emphasizing the cabin’s connection to its natural surroundings.
The project was assigned to Amit, a senior 3D artist with over a decade of experience in architectural visualization. He led a team of talented artists, including Neha and Ketan, who contributed their expertise in creating realistic textures and lighting. The studio’s goal was to provide the client with high-quality renders that would help in marketing the cabin to potential buyers.
Throughout the project, the team collaborated closely with the client, ensuring that their vision was accurately captured in the visualizations. Regular feedback sessions allowed for adjustments to be made, resulting in a final product that aligned with the client’s expectations. The cabin’s design featured large windows that framed the stunning mountain views, and the team worked diligently to highlight this aspect in the renders.
Technical Approach
To achieve the desired photorealism, the team utilized 3ds Max and V-Ray for rendering. A specific focus was placed on the materials used for the cabin’s exterior, particularly the wood cladding, which required a careful balance of texture and lighting to convey its natural warmth. Amit implemented a combination of daylight and artificial lighting to create a cozy atmosphere, ensuring that the interior spaces felt inviting while still showcasing the breathtaking views outside. The camera setup was strategically positioned to capture the essence of open-plan living, allowing for a fluid transition between the indoor and outdoor environments.
The Result
The final renders successfully conveyed the charm and tranquility of the mountain cabin, impressing the client and potential buyers alike. The project was completed on schedule, and the client expressed satisfaction with the quality and accuracy of the visualizations.
