Luxury Open Plan Wine Cellar

Luxury Open Plan Living Visualization

Grand open-plan entertaining space featuring a glass-enclosed wine cellar, marble-topped bar with leather stools, grand piano, fireplace feature wall, and pendant lighting.

Project Overview

2 renders. Jackson Hole, WY. A residential interior project called Luxury Open Plan Wine Cellar that the residential architect needed visualized before ground broke. That was the starting point.

Grand open-plan entertaining space featuring a glass-enclosed wine cellar, marble-topped bar with leather stools, grand piano, fireplace feature wall, and pendant lighting.

The Challenge

Lighting was the quiet challenge here. The residential architect wanted Daylight conditions, and getting those to look natural — not staged, not oversaturated — is where a lot of archviz falls flat.

At 2 deliverables, there’s a real risk of redundancy — views that look too similar or don’t add new information. We planned the camera positions deliberately so every image earned its place in the set.

Our Approach

Landscape and entourage came last but mattered enormously. Trees, people, vehicles, sky — these contextual elements are what make a render feel like a photograph instead of a diagram.

Material selection was hands-on. We sourced textures from manufacturer libraries and matched them against the specification documents. Where specs were ambiguous, we sent samples to the residential architect for sign-off before rendering.

Lighting development ran parallel to the modelling. We tested multiple Daylight setups early — before the geometry was even finished — so we could lock in the mood and atmosphere without burning production time later.

The Result

The full set of 2 renders was delivered within 1-2 weeks. Hero images went out first for early marketing, with the complete gallery following shortly after for the project website and brochure.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you capture the transparency and reflections of a glass-enclosed wine cellar in a 3D render?

We use physically-based glass and liquid shading with accurate refraction indices, ensuring the wine bottles, glass enclosure, and surrounding marble surfaces interact with light exactly as they would in a built space.

What design elements make open-plan entertaining spaces particularly challenging to visualize?

Spaces like this combine diverse material palettes — leather, marble, polished wood, glass — alongside focal elements like a grand piano and fireplace, requiring careful lighting balance so no single feature overpowers the composition.

What is the typical turnaround for a residential interior visualization of this complexity?

A luxury interior scene with multiple material zones and feature elements like this wine cellar typically takes 5–7 business days from model receipt to final delivery, including one round of revisions.

How do residential architects use renders of high-end entertaining spaces during client presentations?

Architects present these visualizations to help homeowners evaluate spatial flow, material selections, and furniture scale before committing to costly finishes like custom marble bars or glass wine enclosures.

What sets residential living space visualizations apart from other architectural rendering categories?

Living spaces demand a lifestyle narrative — the warmth of pendant lighting, the texture of leather seating, the ambient glow of a fireplace — because the client's emotional connection to the space is what drives design approval.
