Modern Farmhouse White Stone

Modern Farmhouse Two Story Detached House Visualization

Project Overview

The residential architect came to us mid-design with Modern Farmhouse White Stone, a luxury home project in Asheville, NC. They needed 2 images that could work for client presentations now and marketing materials later.

The Challenge

The timeline was compressed. The residential architect had a launch date that wasn’t moving, which meant our production schedule had zero slack for extended revision cycles.

Getting the materials right was non-negotiable. The residential architect had specific finishes in mind, and anything that read as ‘generic CG’ would undermine the credibility of the entire package.

Our Approach

Lighting development ran parallel to the modelling. We tested multiple Midday setups early — before the geometry was even finished — so we could lock in the mood and atmosphere without burning production time later.

Landscape and entourage came last but mattered enormously. Trees, people, vehicles, sky — these contextual elements are what make a render feel like a photograph instead of a diagram.

We started where we always start: with the drawings. Every wall thickness, every material notation, every site boundary got translated into the 3D model before we touched a single texture or light.

The Result

All 2 images were delivered on schedule within 1-2 weeks. The residential architect has used the package across their website, printed materials, and investor presentations.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you accurately render the contrast between white stucco and grey stone veneer in exterior visualizations?

We use physically-based material shading with separate roughness and displacement maps for each surface, ensuring the stucco reads as smooth and clean while the stone veneer shows realistic depth, texture variation, and mortar lines under natural lighting.

What details matter most when visualizing a modern farmhouse exterior for client approval?

Material transitions between the upper stucco and ground-floor stone, roof pitch accuracy, garage door color integration, and realistic suburban context — including street-level elements like parked cars and landscaping — are critical for helping residential clients see the home as it will actually feel in its neighborhood.

What is the typical turnaround for a luxury residential exterior rendering like this Modern Farmhouse project?

A single hero exterior view with full environment context, landscaping, and material accuracy is typically delivered within 5-7 business days from receiving finalized drawings and material selections.

How do residential architects use these exterior renders in their practice?

Architects present these renders during design review meetings to help homeowners visualize material choices — such as stone-to-stucco ratios and accent colors — and to secure faster approvals before construction documents are finalized.

What makes luxury residential exterior visualization different from commercial exterior rendering?

Luxury residential exteriors demand hyper-attention to craft details like stone coursing patterns, trim profiles, and garage door textures at a human-eye viewing distance, whereas commercial work prioritizes massing and streetscape impact at a broader scale.
