“On site the reveal reads instantly — shadow does the work. In a render, at the wrong sun angle or a flat overcast sky, that shadow softens or drops out, and the same facade prints as a flat elevation drawing with brick texture on it. Two things protect it: a lower sun angle at the shoot (not overhead midday), and keeping the bay’s cast shadow visible in the frame rather than cropping tight. Neither changes the design — only the light.”
A restrained, near-single-material palette — real design discipline, and the hardest thing to protect in a render. Under one flat sky the tonal breaks can collapse; the read names which surfaces need a material or exposure nudge to stay legible, without touching the design.
